About Us

Our Story

We were born in Zlín, a city with a deep-rooted tradition in the footwear industry. Like most locals, we take great pride in our heritage — especially in the legacy of Baťa. That’s why it felt natural, and meaningful, to begin our own production right here in our hometown, in the very place where the Czech footwear industry once flourished.

Although one of our grandparents once stitched slippers in Valašsko, we had no experience in shoe production when we started. What drove us was our passion. We wanted to create an honest Czech product using European materials — something modern, yet healthy and functional.

We reached out to the Tomas Bata University in Zlín to share our vision and ask for their support. They welcomed us and were happy to guide us in the right direction. Because our goal was to design shoes especially for Czech customers, we began by collecting real foot measurements in the Czech Republic — so that our lasts (shoe moulds) would truly fit Czech feet. We gathered data at music festivals, public events, and the naBOSo barefoot store in Prague. In total, we measured 1,056 feet, which allowed us to create our unique last and, eventually, the very first pair of ANGLES shoes.

Today

ANGLES shoes are handmade barefoot shoes, crafted using the needle construction method and designed to simulate natural barefoot movement. All models are made in the Czech Republic, using top-quality leather and exclusively EU-sourced materials. Our lasts follow the real angles and anatomy of human feet.

ANGLES shoes are completely flat — with no heels, arch supports, thick soles, or rigid structures that restrict natural toe movement. They are exceptionally lightweight and allow your feet to function freely and naturally.

  • Atlas – ankle boots (women/men)
  • Rheia – women’s ballerinas

Why ANGLES?

The name ANGLES is inspired by the actual angles of the human foot — which our shoes are built to respect. Our logo combines the Earth symbol with a triangle, representing our connection to the ground and the triangular shape of the foot. Each shoe model is named after a Greek philosopher, god, or mathematician, honouring the timelessness of natural movement and thoughtful design.
